American Legion offering scholarship

Students from Franklin Community High School and Indian Creek High School may be eligible for a scholarship.

Franklin American Legion Auxiliary will be awarding the annual Elizabeth Duhamell and Marjorie Rook scholarship to two students for $500 each.

Applications are available at each high school.

Grant available for future music majors

Johnson County high school graduating seniors who intend to pursue a music career may be eligible for a scholarship from a local music advocacy group. Matinee Musicale is offering a $600 scholarship. Students must be planning to attend an accredited college or university.

Association to give out 40 scholarships

The Indiana Sheriff’s Association will give $500 college scholarships to 40 qualified high school seniors or college students who are pursuing a degree in criminal justice studies.

To qualify for a scholarship, the applicant must be an Indiana resident, be a current member of the association or a dependent child or grandchild of a member, attend an Indiana college or university, major in a law enforcement field and enroll as a full-time student.

Applications can be downloaded from the Indiana Sheriffs’ Association website at indianasheriffs.org.

Applications must be completed and received no later than April 1.

Indiana credit union offering scholarships

Indiana Members Foundation, the charitable arm of Indiana Members Credit Union, along with Indiana Members Credit Union, is taking applications for the Robert E. Martin Collegiate Scholarship Program, available to college students that are members of Indiana Members Credit Union. Ten $5,000 collegiate scholarships will be given.

The scholarship application and instructions can be found online at imf4kids.org. The deadline is March 31.

Franklin seniors can earn scholarship

Graduating Franklin Community High School seniors can apply for a locally-funded scholarship.

The Gilmore Scholarship Trust will award up to $2,000 per year over a four-year period to graduating seniors going to Indiana colleges and universities full time, with preference given to those attending Franklin College.

Application information is available in the school’s guidance office. Deadline for submission is March 31.
