GREENWOOD
Dorothy J. Nierman, 94, Greenwood, formerly of Franklin, went to be with The Lord on Thursday, March 15, 2018. She was born October 20, 1923 in Indianapolis to the late Robert F. and Alma (Fischer) Ward. Dorothy graduated from Arsenal Technical High School. She was a longtime active member of Friedens United Church of Christ. Prior to starting a family and becoming a homemaker, she worked at Indiana Bell. An avid bowler, she enjoyed reading, jigsaw puzzles, and Bingo.
Survivors include her children, Linda Burt (Stacey) and David Nierman (Pamela), three grandchildren, Jordan Vaughn (Daniel), Jared Burt, Christopher Nierman; and two great grandchildren; Tanner and Ainsley Vaughn.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert D. Ward and her husband of 36 years, Herbert Nierman.
Visitation will be observed Tuesday, March 20 from 10-11:30 AM at Friedens United Church of Christ, with the funeral service held at 11:30 AM. She will be laid to rest at Crown Hill Cemetery.
