Police: Local woman stole $700 worth of clothing

A Seymour woman was arrested after police said she stole more than $700 worth of clothing from a Franklin store Wednesday evening.

Kari C. Spray, 32, was arrested on charges of theft, making a false statement about her identity and identity deception.

Employees at Kohl’s, 415 Mallory Parkway, called police to report a shoplifter, and an officer stopped a vehicle matching the description. The driver initially gave police another name, but later identified herself as Spray, according to the Franklin Police Department report.

Officers found bags of clothing that matched the description of items employees said had been stolen, the report said.

Spray, 10963 E. County Road 400N, was arrested and taken to the Johnson County jail where she was held on $3,200 bond.
