Two vehicles strike buildings in two days

Two drivers hit two buildings in Greenwood on Tuesday.

The first accident happened just after 11 a.m. near Emerson Avenue and Main Street. A vehicle struck the side of the building where City Life Church is located at 50 Airport Parkway, according to the police report.

No one was inside the church when police arrived, but the crash left a sizeable hole in the building, the report said.

The driver was believed to be suffering from a medical issue and was sent to Franciscan Health Indianapolis to be checked, according to the report.

A second crash happened just before 7 p.m. along North Madison Avenue. A driver meant to hit the brake, but accidentally hit the gas pedal instead, according to the accident report.

The vehicle jumped a curb and struck a concrete pillar at Indiana Members Credit Union, at 1115 N. Madison Ave.

The fire department was called, and found that the pillar was not supporting the building and the accident did not do structural damage, the report said.
