Franklin has a new city council member – Daniel Blankenship

Franklin Republican leaders named a retired sheriff’s deputy to the city council on Thursday night.

Daniel Blankenship received four of the six votes cast by precinct committee members and was immediately sworn in as a member of the city council. He is a retired lieutenant with the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office.<img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-711821" src="http://www.dailyjournal.net/wp-content/uploads/sites/9/2018/03/Blankenship.jpg" alt="Blankenship" width="1200" height="800" />His selection fills a two-month vacancy on the city council.
