Man arrested after being found in Edinburgh home

A man was arrested after an Edinburgh family found him asleep on their couch Sunday morning.

Caleb G. Blackwell, 22, Franklin, was arrested on a charge of residential entry and public intoxication.

Just after 6 a.m. Sunday, Edinburgh police officers were called to a home in the 100 block of West County Line Road. Residents had woken up to find a man they did not know sleeping on the couch, according to the police report.

Blackwell, who was not wearing pants or shoes, told police he did not know how he had gotten into the house or where his clothing was. He told officers that all he knew was that he had been drinking, the report said. Blackwell had a blood-alcohol content of 0.129 percent, the report said.

The residents told police they had never seen Blackwell before, the report said.

Blackwell, 101 Ridge St., was arrested and is being held in the Bartholomew County Jail on $11,000 bond.
