Lindsey “Lin” Hudson Scott

Lindsey “Lin” Hudson Scott went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 10th, 2018. He was a resident of Franklin.

Lin was born on January 18th, 1926, in Indianapolis, the son of Maggie (Short) and James Wiley Scott. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps at the age of 18 and was proud to serve during World War II in the South Pacific. Upon his return from the war, he married Lorna Gray in 1946 until her death in February, 1995. Later that same year, he married Judy Vandivier until her death on February 9th, 2018.

Lin was a retired business owner and realtor. He enjoyed spending time with his family and traveling, especially winterin g in Florida for several years. He loved life, never met a stranger, and found humor in day-to-day situations.

Lin is survived by his daughters Cindy (Bob) Croll, Kokomo and Jennifer (Lon) Crain, Fayette; granddaughters Denise (Jerry) Danowski, Carissa (Mark) Miller, and Melissa Gewertz; great grandsons, C.J. and Alex Stuckey and great granddaughters Jessie and Kelsey Miller. His sister, Marie (Becky) Bailey of Indianapolis survives as well as several nieces and nephews. Lin is also survived by Judy’s son Dan (Rhonda) Vandivier and daughter Stacy (Danny) Duckworth both of Franklin; her grandchildren Lindsay, Jake, Matt, Dalt, Clay, and Nicole and great-granddaughter Sarah. Preceding Lin in death were sisters Katherine Scott, Edna Johnson, Jeanne Reese, and Norma Stewart; brother, Russell Scott and great granddaughter Emma Gewertz.

In keeping with Lin’s wishes only graveside services will be held on Thursday, March 15th at 11:00 a.m. at the K of P Cemetery in Lizton, Indiana. Family and friends are invited to attend. Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 North Morton Street in Franklin is handling the arrangements.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Methodist Hospital for their expertise and wonderful care of Lin.
