Mable Marie Hall, 95, of New Whiteland, IN, formerly of Scottsburg, IN, passed away at 9:30 AM on Friday, March 9, 2018 at her granddaughter’s home in New Whiteland, IN.

Marie was born on July 21, 1922 to Edward “Eddie” and Vesta May (Deputy) Walker.

Marie was a 1942 Paris Crossing High School graduate and worked at Fort Benjamin Harrison US Army Post in the Finance and Accounting office where she took much pride in writing the checks to the soldiers.

On October 24, 1942, Marie married James “Val” Hall, who preceded her in death. She tried to join the military with her husband but they would not enlist her because she was too small.

Marie was of the Baptist faith, loved to crochet, sew, make crafts and collect depression glass.

Marie is survived by her 5 grandchildren, Bradly (Barbie) Decker, Jackie (Scott) Willits, Angela (Ronnie) Hewitt, Valarie Waller, and Jeremy (LaHana) Stewart; 11 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; and 1 sister, Frances Ilean Hickerson of Crothersville, IN; and several half-brothers & half-sisters.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 2 daughters, Donna Sue Decker and Nila Jo Reynolds; 3 sisters, Hazel Jean Moore, Blanche Ross Capps, and Betty Ferris.

Marie’s grandson-in-law, Ronnie Hewitt, will conduct funeral services on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at 4:00 PM and friends may visit on Wednesday from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, all at Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Crothersville. Graveside services will be conducted on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Garden of Meditation-Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery, 6805 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, Anderson IN 46013.
