RICHMOND, Va. — Virginia lawmakers are honoring a news photographer who has been covering the state Capitol for decades.

The House of Delegates recognized Richmond Times-Dispatch photographer Bob Brown on the House floor on Friday. The House had previously passed a resolution expressing admiration for his work.

Brown joined the newspaper in 1968 and was recently selected to the Virginia Capitol Correspondents Association Hall of Fame. In 2014, he was the first photojournalist to win the George Mason Award from the Society of Professional Journalists.
