PHOENIX — Phoenix police say a young mother is missing and that her infant daughter was found abandoned about 4 miles (6 kilometers) from the residence where they were last seen by family members.

Police say 21-year-old Jasmine Rain Dunbar is black, 5.5 feet (1.7 meters) tall, weighs 145 pounds (66 kilograms) and has brown eyes and hair.

Sgt. Jonathan Howard says Dunbar hasn’t been seen or heard from since about 9 p.m. Tuesday when she and her 7-month-old child were at a residence in the area of North 51st Avenue and West Thomas Road.

Howard says the child was found about an hour later after motorists called police to report seeing the child in a car street along a street in the area of North 83rd Avenue and West Minnezona Avenue.
