Anna May Withered

GREENWOOD

Anna May Withered, 91, passed away on the afternoon of Sunday, March 4, 2018 in Greenwood. She was born November 12, 1926 in Indianapolis, a daughter of the late Paul W. and Mildred F. (Harding) Armstrong. Anna spent her working career in the secretarial field which began at Eli Lilly and Company. She had also been employed at Southport United Methodist Church and concluded with One America (formerly AUL) in 1987. From 1982 to 2005,

Anna was a volunteer at Community Hospital South. She enjoyed gardening and taking care of her flowers, cross-stitch and traveling. Anna deeply loved her family and her greatest joy was the time she could spend with them.

She was a faithful member of Mount Auburn United Methodist Church in Greenwood. Anna is survived by her children, Dennis (Janet) Withered and Paula (George) Kopko; her grandchildren, Shannon Pierce, Lauren Kopko-Voicu, Leslie Kopko-Galer and Alexander Kopko; five great-grandchildren; her siblings, Paul (Terry) Armstrong, Helen (Bob) Davis and Doris Birch; her sisters-in-law, Margie Armstrong and Donna Armstrong and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in passing by her parents; her loving husband of nearly 54 years, Forrest E. Withered; a grandson, Chad Withered; and her siblings, John Armstrong, Robert Armstrong, Lois (Frank) Coats and Mary Neal.

Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 pm, Saturday, March 10, 2018 at the Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until the time of service. Interment to follow at Crown Hill Cemetery. Pastor Jeff Buck will be officiating.
