Jack L. Hamilton

GREENWOOD

Jack L. Hamilton, 78, passed away Friday, March 2, 2018. He was a longtime Greenwood resident.

He was born November 1, 1939 in Owen County, IN, to John Wayne Hamilton and Leona Robinson Hamilton. He married Judy Reagan on April 24, 1959 in Indianapolis.

Survivors include his wife, Judy Hamilton of Greenwood; daughter, Deann (Steve) Judd of Greenwood; son, Kerry (Abby) Hamilton of Franklin; sister, Sue Silver of Jasonville, IN; six grandchildren, Kelly Cavender, Dylan Chenault, Mackenzie Chenault, Kaylee Hamilton, Blaine Hamilton, and Ella Hamilton; and one great-grandchild, Alaina Cavender.

He was preceded in death by one grandchild, Taylor Morgan Hamilton; two brothers, John and Frank Hamilton; and one sister, Barbara Dillon.

Jack was employed by Operating Engineers Local #103 for 45 years as a heavy equipment operator, retiring in 2001.

He was known as “Farmer Jack” to many of his friends. He loved to farm and to spend time in his barn. He was always lending a helping hand to others.

All his family and friends knew his greatest love was his grandchildren.

Visitation hours will be from 2-5 PM Thursday, March 8, at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, Greenwood Chapel, 481 W. Main Street. A funeral service will follow at 5 PM.
