LAKOTA, Iowa — Authorities say they’re holding a northern Iowa man suspected of killing a woman.

The Kossoth (kuh-SOOTH’) County Sheriff’s Office says deputies and medics were sent around 12:50 a.m. Saturday to provide medical assistance and investigate a report of a domestic assault in Lakota. They found the body of 38-year-old Krista Hesebeck at one address and the injured homicide suspect at another. He was treated and taken to jail.

Court records say 45-year-old Chad Dietrick, of Lakota, is charged with first-degree murder and with a related weapons count. The records don’t list the name of an attorney who could comment for him.

An autopsy has been ordered.
