Pair of elementary students arrested for threats

Two Center Grove elementary students were arrested this week after posting a threat on a website, the school’s police department said.

The details of the threat and the website that it was posted on was not revealed in a letter notifying parents of the incident Thursday night. The threat was discovered Wednesday.

The Center Grove Police Department and FBI agents traced the posted threat to two students who attend Center Grove Elementary School, the police department said. The students were interviewed, arrested and released to their parents, Center Grove Police Department Chief Ray Jackson said in the statement to parents.

“We appreciate all reports of potential concerns we receive from parents and students. Every report is investigated,” Jackson wrote. “Please encourage your students to share concerns with a teacher, administrator, Center Grove Police officer, or report online via our SafeSchools Alert anonymous reporting system.”
