WASHINGTON — Metropolitan police have charged a man with first-degree murder while armed for the shooting death of a D.C. man.

A police news release says 26-year-old Charles Wennen Young was arrested Wednesday by the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force for 29-year-old Kenneth Poindexter’s death. Police found Poindexter with gunshot wounds Jan. 20.

The Washington Post reports Poindexter had been shot multiple times in the chest and later died at a hospital. A police report says Poindexter was found inside a home but might have been shot outside. Other items shot during the attack include two vehicles, a wooden fence and a basement door and wall.

It’s unclear if Young has a lawyer. Police haven’t released a motive.
