GADSDEN, Ala. — Authorities say an Alabama woman has exposed a child to an environment with drugs.
Etowah County Sheriff Todd Entrekin and investigator Brandi Fuller said in a Tuesday statement the Attalla woman exposed the child where controlled substances are ingested, produced or distributed. They say 32-year-old Ravan Dyan Erwin admitted to illegally using Suboxone without a prescription. She was initially arrested for failure to appear in court on prior drug and theft charges.
AL.com reports Suboxone is usually used for opioid dependence treatment.
Records say Erwin is jailed on charges including chemical endangerment of a child, a felony. As a condition of her $10,000 cash bond, she must complete a drug treatment program and be supervised by the county court referral office upon release.
It is unclear if she has a lawyer.
