SCRANTON, Pa. — Police say a man was critically injured by shots fired into a Pennsylvania bar and a suspect in the shooting was later found dead.

Scranton police said a man kicked out of Bigsy’s Bar and Grill in west Scranton at about 2 a.m. Sunday pulled a gun and began shooting into the bar, striking a patron.

The injured man was taken to Geisinger Community Medical Center, where he was reported in critical condition.

Capt. Dennis Lukasewicz said a special operations unit surrounded the suspect’s nearby home at about 6 a.m. Sunday and tried to make contact with him several hours later after obtaining warrants.

Lukasewicz said as officers approached, they heard a gunshot, and 28-year-old Kyle Cohawitz was found dead in the basement.
