GARDNERVILLE, Nev. — Authorities searched unsuccessfully in a rural area of western Nevada for a Carson City man sought in an alleged attempted homicide.

The Nevada Appeal reports that the China Spring Youth Camp south of Gardnerville was placed on lockdown Friday night during the manhunt for Rocky Boice Jr. and that Douglas County officials used a reverse-911 system to notify residents to lock their doors.

Boice’s vehicle was found in the area after a pursuit, prompting authorities to bring in search dogs and a drone with heat sensors.

The search was concluded Friday night at about 10 p.m.

The camp is 24 miles (39 kilometers) south of Carson City.
