CARSON CITY, Nev. — Nevada prison officials say a 66-year-old inmate who was serving 14 consecutive sentences on multiple child sex crimes has died in custody.

State Department of Corrections spokeswoman Brooke Santina said Friday that Gregory L. Dicus died Feb. 9 at a medical facility at Northern Nevada Correctional Center in Carson City.

A cause of death was not immediately disclosed. Santina says the Carson City sheriff-coroner is conducting an autopsy and no family members were found.

Records show that Dicus was arrested in 1995 and found guilty by a jury in Las Vegas in 1996.

His sentences amounted to more than life in prison on charges including sexual assault of a victim under 16, lewdness with a minor, child abuse and being a habitual criminal.
