CHARLESTON, S.C. — A man has surrendered to police in a South Carolina shooting death earlier this week.

Nineteen-year-old Tyrone Council II surrendered to Charleston police Thursday morning.

Council has been charged with murder and possession of a gun during a violent crime. It was not known if he has an attorney yet.

Police were called to a shooting around 6:30 p.m. Monday and found 19-year-old De’Andre Gregg of Charleston. He was taken to the Medical University of South Carolina Hospital where he died.

Police spokesman Charles Francis told local media that investigators think there was a fight before the shooting.
