CONCORD, N.H. — A Vermont man has pleaded guilty in New Hampshire to attempting to engage in illicit sexual activity with two underage girls through ads posted by police officers.

Court documents say 50-year-old Joseph Norko, of Saint Johnsbury, responded to two online advertisements for sex last year, one posted by a Portsmouth police officer pretending to be a 12-year-old girl, and the other posted by a Lebanon police officer pretending to be a 15-year-old.

Prosecutors say Norko traveled to New Hampshire to have sex with teen.

He’s scheduled to be sentenced in federal court on June 1.
