MIDDLESEX, Vt. — Police say two people died in a Vermont crash in which an 18-wheel tractor trailer rolled over on its side.

Police had not released the names of the victims on Monday. They say the 18 wheeler was traveling south on Interstate 89 on Sunday afternoon when it veered into the median just south of the Middlesex exit.

WPTZ-TV reports a fuel leak happened as a result of the crash and was responded to by state police, hazardous material teams and fire crews.

The crash also resulted in delays of train services and a temporary closure of the highway.
