NEW YORK — Police say a 42-year-old man has been slashed in the face by a stranger in Times Square.

The victim was near 45th Street and 7th Avenue when he and another man began arguing late Sunday evening. According to the New York Post , the attacker pulled out a knife and slashed the man. He was arrested at the scene. It’s not clear what prompted the argument.

The victim was hospitalized with a facial injury but was expected to recover.
