Mary Jo (Waggener) Limp, age 77, passed away at her home in Nashville with her loving children beside her on Thursday morning, February 15, 2018.
Mary Jo was born February 10, 1941, in Knoxville, Tennessee, to the late James A. and Norma (Mogle) Waggener. She attended Franklin High School and IUPUI.
Mary Jo was a talented and well known artist in the Brown County area for the past 30 years, with opening her own studio “Mary Jo Limp Studio Gallery” in the early 90’s.
She was a member of the Parkview Nazarene Church, Brown County Art Guild, Brown County Art Foundation, Brown County Art Alliance and a past member of the Brown County Chamber of Commerce. Mary Jo was also involved in the Indiana Pleinair Association and the Hoosier Salon. She was the past Vice President and membership chairperson for the Indiana Heritage Arts and a member of the Tri Kappa Sorority and the Water Color Society of Indiana. She will be remembered most for her love of family and passion for the Indiana Bluebird Society.
Mary Jo will be missed by her children: Rick J. Limp of Nashville, Vicki L. (Russell Berg) Porter of Bargersville, grandchildren: Heather Limp, Angela (Ryan) Burnside and Keith Frazier, great-grandchildren: Austin, and Kylee Burnside and sisters: Ruth Hall of Trafalgar and Jane Smith of Columbus.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Sam Johnson and Sally Winkler.
The Rev. Burt Brock will conduct a funeral service at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, February 19th at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. A family graveside service will be held at Greenlawn Cemetery.
