Library hosts Scrabble tournament to benefit literacy

Board game and word lovers can participate in a Scrabble tournament in March.

Greenwood library and the North American Scrabble Players Association are hosting a Scrabble tournament at 9 a.m. March 3 to benefit children’s literacy.

In addition to the professional tournament, an amateur, all-ages event will begin at 1 p.m. The amateur tournament will include a kids tournament and an adult tournament.

The winner of each will receive a one-year membership to NASPA along with a prize.

All proceeds from this event will go toward programming at the library to support children’s literacy.

The professional tournament has a $50 entry fee with registration through NASPA. The amateur tournament has a $5 entry fee per team, and registration is online at greenwoodlibrary.us.
