Show choirs earn top honors at competition

Local show choirs sang and danced their way to top placements at a weekend competition.

The Center Grove concert choir, CG Singers, won Best Soprano Section, Best Alto Section, Best Tenor Section, and Grand Champion in the concert division at Pike High School.

The school’s Debtones group earned second runner-up in unisex division and Sound System also won second runner-up. Individual performers recognized were sophomore Lauren Wackerly for Outstanding Performer for Debtones, Alie Kryder for Outstanding Performer for Sound System, and Wilson Smith, Best Male Soloist in the Mixed Division.

Whiteland Community High School show choirs, Rhythm Masters and Expressions, competed at the Loveland Showfest competition in Loveland, Ohio. Expressions earned third place. Leesha Thacker was awarded the top performer. The Rhythm Masters earned grand champion and best vocals.
