PORTLAND, Ore. — Authorities have identified a man shot to death near the Hawthorne Bridge.

The Oregonian/OregonLive reports that 38-year-old California resident Richard R. Hanley died in the shooting on Saturday.

Officers found Hanley on the ground and medics pronounced him dead.

Portland police say the man suspected of shooting Hanley is cooperating with investigators. Police say the suspect remained at the scene and surrendered his gun to officers.

Police say they believe the two men had been in some sort of dispute before the shooting.

No arrests have been made.
