BARRINGTON, N.H. — Firefighters in New Hampshire say freezing rain made it difficult to put out a car fire that spread to a house in Barrington.
Barrington Fire Chief Rick Walker says the rain and slick roads made it difficult for crews to even respond to the site of the fire Wednesday night. WMUR-TV reports multiple crews responded to the scene after a woman called saying her garage and car had caught fire.
The woman inside the house managed to get herself and her pets out to safety. Walker says the home is uninhabitable after the blaze.
The Red Cross has been notified that the woman who lived in the home will need assistance.
