Man arrested after high-speed chase

A Greensburg man was arrested following a high speed chase in the Center Grove area early Wednesday morning.

Trevor Strickland, 18, was arrested on charges of resisting law enforcement in a fleeing vehicle, possession of a controlled substance and reckless driving.

A deputy driving east on Smith Valley Road near State Road 135 saw a car driven by Strickland that was going 67 mph in a 40 mph zone around 12:50 a.m., a Johnson County Sheriff’s Office report said.

The deputy tried to stop the vehicle, but Strickland continued driving on Smith Valley Road before going north on State Road 37 at 93 mph. Strickland turned west onto Wicker Road, before stopping at a dead end, where he was arrested, the report said.

Xanax and a smoking device with marijuana residue were found during a search of Strickland, the report said.

Strickland, 601 N. Michigan Ave., No. 2, was arrested and taken to the Johnson County jail. He was held on $3,200 bond.
