NEW WHITELAND
Emily Joan McCarty, 75, of New Whiteland, passed away Friday, February 2, 2018. She was born to the late Norman and Mildred (Siefert) England in Indianapolis on December 28, 1942.
After graduating from Arsenal Technical high school in 1960, Emily worked for the Indianapolis Times newspaper where she met and married her lifetime sweetheart, Arthur McCarty on September 6, 1962 in Indianapolis, IN. She worked for Finish Line in accounting for 13 years, retiring in 2008. In her down time, Emily enjoyed gardening. She spent many hours working in her flower gardens. She also loved to watch movies. Family meant a lot to her, she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Emily is survived by her two sons; Kevin McCarty of Greenfield, and Tim (Melissa) McCarty of Franklin; three sisters, Sarah (Lynn) Manion of Plainfield, Virginia Kissinger of Carmel, Donna (Don) Smith of Greensburg; one brother, Ronald (Judy) England of Indianapolis, and two grandchildren, Christopher (Grace) McCarty and Lauren McCarty.
Emily was preceded in death by her husband in January of 2017; and two brothers, Jerry and Charles England.
