BARTON, Vt. — Police in Vermont say a man who appeared to have a gun attempted to rob a gas station, but was chased away by a clerk.

Police say, the man entered the Circle K gas station in the town of Barton at about 3 a.m. Tuesday and brandished the weapon. He demanded money from the clerk, 52-year-old Lester Bousquet.

Police said Bousquet didn’t give him any money and chased him off. No one was hurt.

The man fled in a pickup truck. Police are looking for him.
