ST. LOUIS — Authorities say one person has been found dead after a St. Louis house fire.

KTVI -TV reports that the fire started Tuesday morning in a home that initially was reported to be vacant. St. Louis Fire Captain Garon Mosby says there were bars on the doors so firefighters had to make a forced entry to the home. They found the victim’s body outside of a bedroom, at the top of the staircase. The person’s name wasn’t immediately released. No other injuries were reported.

Mosby says the building didn’t have utilities.
