DENVER — Police shot and killed a suspect they say showed a knife during a confrontation inside a Denver home.

Police spokesman Jay Casillas says officers were responding to a burglary in progress in the southwestern part of the city Tuesday evening when the suspect “produced a knife” and was shot. The Denver Post reports the suspect, whose name has not been released, died at a hospital.

Casillas did not know how many officers fired their weapons and could not provide additional details about the shooting.

No officers were injured.
