CARRABELLE, Fla. — Authorities say a Florida pilot was seriously injured in a small plane crash.

The Tallahassee Democrat reports that the single-seat plane went down Monday morning near the Carrabelle-Thompson Airport in the Florida Panhandle.

Franklin County officials say 68-year-old Gregory Newman was airlifted to a Tallahassee hospital in critical condition after being found by emergency crews.

The cause of the crash wasn’t immediately reported.
