Financial center names new board of directors member

A credit union that has ties to the county has added a board member.

Financial Center First Credit Union’s chief operations officer, Sven Leander, was recently elected to the Credit Union Center’s Board of Directors. Leander was elected as an at-large director.

Area Chamber of Commerce names board of directors

The Franklin Chamber of Commerce has elected their board of directors.

Directors are elected for two year terms.

County resident earns award for anesthesiology

A Greenwood resident has earned an award for his work as an anesthesiologist at a southside hospital.

Robert C. Stump is the 2017 recipient of the Franciscan Health Distinguished Service Award.

Stump, who plans to retire this summer after 37 years of practicing medicine, has spent his entire career with Southeast Anesthesiologists. He served as president of that organization the past two years. He also is the medical director of blood conservation for all three Franciscan Health facilities and co-authored the transfusion guidelines used throughout the Franciscan Alliance and Indianapolis area hospitals.

County banker joins board of directors at Mutual Savings

A local banker was named to a board of directors.

Jeff Goben recently joined the the Mutual Saving’s Bank board of directors.

Goben, a Greenwood resident, began his banking career in Johnson County 41 years ago, retiring in 2014 from Horizon Bank, where he had served as senior vice president of retail banking. Goben also had worked at the National Bank of Greenwood, Bargersville State Bank and Citizens Bank of Central Indiana, and he was co-founder of Heartland Community Bank, where he served as executive vice president and chief operating officer.

He is a member and past president of the Greater Greenwood Chamber of Commerce as well as Saints Francis and Clare of Assisi Catholic Church in Greenwood. He is a member of the Sertoma Club of Greenwood for the past 31 years, Dye’s Walk Country Club for 54 years and also serves on the Steering Committee of WAMMFEST. Goben was given the honor of Distinguished Hoosier by the Governor of Indiana in 2016.

County utility company names CEO replacement

A county utility company has hired a new person for their top job.

John W. Sturm was named chief executive office of Johnson County REMC.

Sturm replaced L. Chester Aubin.

Sturm currently serves as president and owner of Resolution Energy.
