HAMMONTON, N.J. — Authorities have released the name of a man who was struck and killed by a New Jersey Transit train.
The agency says Victoriano Diaz-Sanchez was struck around 6 p.m. Wednesday in Hammonton by an eastbound Atlantic City rail line train. He was pronounced dead a short time later.
It’s not clear why the 59-year-old Hammonton man was on the tracks.
Authorities say none of the 250 passengers and crew members aboard the train were injured.
Rail service was suspended for nearly three hours in the area while the accident was investigated.
