LINCOLNTON, N.C. — A North Carolina man has been arrested in the stabbing death of his father.

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office told local media that a man and his father got into an argument at a home near Lincolnton around 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

Twenty-one-year-old Nicholas Lynch has been charged with second-degree murder in the stabbing death of 59-year-old Oswald Bryan Lynch.

Deputies say both men were stabbed in the fight. Oswald Lynch was taken to Carolinas Healthcare System-Lincoln where he died. Nicholas Lynch was treated at the scene.

Officers recovered a large knife they say was used during the fight. There is no word yet on what the men were fighting about.

It was not known if Lynch has an attorney yet.
