FAIRVIEW, Kan. — Authorities say a body has been found after a fire in northeast Kansas.

Brown County Sheriff John Merchant says the fire was reported early Thursday near the town of Fairview. The Topeka Capital-Journal reports that departments from several communities battled the blaze for several hours. Merchant says the state fire marshal’s office was contacted and is investigating the cause of the blaze.

The name of the person who died wasn’t immediately released.
