GUILFORD, Conn. — Police in Connecticut are investigating the shooting death of a 15-year-old boy.

Guilford Police Chief Jeffrey Hutchinson says Ethan Song died at a hospital Wednesday afternoon after suffering a gunshot wound inside a house in town. Song did not live at the home. An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday.

Hutchinson says one other youth was in the home at the time and no adults were present. The other youth’s name was not released and he wasn’t injured.

No one has been charged or is in custody. The chief says the circumstances are under investigation.

Hutchinson says he has worked in the coastal community for 28 years and cannot remember another fatal shooting in town.

Song was a freshman at Guilford High School. The school is bringing in grief counselors.
