Deborah K. ‘Debbie’ Stephens

Deborah K. “Debbie” (Hamilton) Stephens, age 65, passed away peacefully on Friday morning, January 19, 2018 at her home in Brown County.

She was born April 25, 1952, in Martinsville to her parents, the late Delbert and Helena Hamilton. Debbie was a graduate of Martinsville High School and went on to retire in 2004 from Arvin Industries in Franklin after 29 years of service.

Debbie is survived by her husband of 26 years, Otis “Frank” Stephens, whom she married on January 2, 1992 in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. She is also survived by her children, Mike (Melissa) Harrington of Mooresville, Eric (Amy) Harrington of Trafalgar, Chrissy (Bruce) Barnett and David (Porscheya) Smith both of Martinsville; siblings, Judy Burpo of Paragon and Brad (Kim) Hamilton of Martinsville; and ten grandchildren.

Debbie always prayed for her children and was a faithful member of the Friendship Baptist Church in Franklin. She was one of the original founders of the Community Bible Church in Franklin. Debbie loved spending time with her family and traveling to the Great Smoky Mountains in Tennessee with her husband. She enjoyed garage sales and online shopping. She will be remembered for her cooking, especially her macaroni and cheese and cheeseburger meatloaf.

A celebration of life service will be conducted by the Rev. Fred Brown at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 27th at the Friendship Baptist Church, 1600 Westview Dr. Franklin, IN 46131. A meal will be provided by the church following the service on Saturday. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Meredith – Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown.

Memorial contributions may be sent in honor of Debbie to the Friendship Baptist Church, “Building Fund” 1600 Westview Dr. Franklin, IN 46131.
