GIRLS BASKETBALL

Warriors thump Shelbyville

Mackenzie Blazek scored 26 points as Whiteland came back from a 10-day layoff with an easy 75-45 victory at Shelbyville on Thursday night.

Natalie Stuck added 11 points for the Warriors (16-4), which got at least eight points from five different players and put the game away by outscoring the Golden Bears 49-22 over the second and third quarters.

SWIMMING AND DIVING

Woodmen sweep Speedway

Greenwood dominated its dual meet with Speedway on Thursday night, with the girls winning by a 146-33 score and the boys taking a 100-51 victory.

On the girls side, the Woodmen got two wins each from Alex Wilson (100-yard freestyle, backstroke) and Grace Nuhfer (50 and 500 free). Alayna Kenworthy (200 individual medley), Rachel Knight (200 free), Samantha Loudermilk (butterfly) and Faith Jackson (diving) also were victorious on the evening.

Gabe Ellington was a double winner for the boys (200 IM, 500 free), and Jake Johnson was first in diving.
