Local firefighters will battle for your taste buds at a local chili cook-off for charity.
The Kiwanis Club of Greenwood will be hosting the Chili Cook-Off for Riley Kids from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Jan. 26 at Greenwood United Methodist Church, 525 N. Madison Ave., Greenwood.
Firefighters from Greenwood, White River Township, New Whiteland and Bargersville will prepare chili. Patrons of the cook-off will then vote for their favorite.
The price is $7 a person for adults and $3 for children 10 and under. The menu includes chili, cornbread, dessert and a beverage. The children’s menu includes hot dog, potato chips, dessert and beverage.
Proceeds from the event go to Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health.
A barbershop quartet, “The Lads of Harmony,” will perform at the event. Proceeds from a silent auction will help benefit the club’s scholarship fund.
