MORGANTOWN
E. Nadine (Crane) Speer, age 90, passed away peacefully on Sunday evening, January 14, 2018 at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin. She was a resident of Morgantown.
Nadine was born on June 23, 1927, in Bedford to the late Herman and Helen (Wray) Crane. She was a 1945 graduate of Tunnelton High School in Bedford. Nadine married Gordon L. Speer on July 31, 1947 in Lawrence County. He preceded her in death on November 26, 2003 after 56 loving years of marriage.
Nadine was also preceded in death by siblings, Jayne Kellman and Patrick Crane.
She was a loving wife, homemaker and mother. Nadine was a 50 year member of the Morgantown Baptist Church and the Morgantown Senior Center. She enjoyed playing euchre, sewing and shopping. Nadine loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Virginia L. (Craig) Ratliff of Morgantown, Elizabeth J. (Michael) Wilson of Amity, Emily A. (James) Rusher of Trafalgar, Patricia C. (Dan) Sebesky of Franklin, Amy M. (Mark) Sichting of Morgantown, D. W. (Beverly) Speer of Isle of Palms, S.C., David B. (Sylvia, “Tibby”) Speer of Morgantown and Stephen M. Speer of Indianapolis; 16 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
The Rev. Lee Snider will conduct a funeral service at 10:30 a.m. on Friday at Meredith- Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry St. in Morgantown. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at East Hill Cemetery in Morgantown.
