Nancy Ann Pickerel

TRAFALGAR

Nancy Ann Pickerel, age 66, passed away January 9, 2018 at Franciscan St. Francis Hospice House in Indianapolis. She was a resident of Trafalgar.

Nancy was born October 31, 1951, in Franklin, to her parents, the late Lawrence A. and Mary L. (Williamson) Pickerel. She was a 1969 graduate of Emmerich Manuel High School in Indianapolis.

Nancy retired in 2005 as an OSP Engineer for Embark (formerly known as United Telephone) in Franklin after 33 years of service. After retirement, she worked as a Damage Prevention Specialist in the call center for 811 in Greenwood for over 11 years.

Nancy is survived by her children, Kelly (Sheri) Morris and Jason (Kristine) Morris, both of Greenwood; longtime companion, Bill Bowling of Franklin; siblings; Loyce Wilhelm and Lawrence James “Larry” (Kim) Pickerel, both of Trafalgar; grandchildren; Kayela (David) Ross of Centerton, Sadie and Carson Morris of Greenwood, Shaun (Katie) Swant of Rhode Island, Donovan Knutson and Desarae Swant, both of Greenwood.

She was a fan of NASCAR and loved traveling to races in Daytona, Talladega and Las Vegas with Jeff Gordon being her favorite driver. Nancy enjoyed sewing, bowling on leagues in Franklin and watching old black and white movies. She loved feeding the birds and caring for her animals, especially her cat “Rusty” and her beloved dog “Rocky”.

The Rev. Jeff Alexander will conduct a funeral service at noon on Saturday, January 20th at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at First Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Franklin.
