INDIANAPOLIS
Doris Bell Flick, 91, of Indianapolis, passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 22, 1926 in Progress, Pennsylvania to the late Frank and Bertha Mountz. Doris was united in marriage to Lloyd J. Bell on August 3, 1946; he preceded her in death on May 6, 1967.
Doris retired from Sears, Roebuck and Co. in June of 1986 after working there for 20 years in the receiving department. Her favorite hobbies were gardening, crocheting, reading, playing cards, and making the best milkshakes for her grandchildren.
Doris is survived by her three children, Nancy (Jock) Prestigiacomo of Lexington, SC, Donald (Patti) Bell of Whiteland, and Patsy (Dan) Schwab of Greenwood; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; as well as many nieces and a nephew.
Doris was preceded in death by her brother, Merle Mountz, and a sister, Marie Moore.
Her funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday January 16 at Jessen Funeral Home, Whiteland Chapel, 729 N. U.S. Hwy 31. A visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.
A special thanks to the staff for the compassionate care mom received the last six weeks of her life at Aspen Trace Senior Living Community-Rehabilitation in Greenwood.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, the National Kidney Foundation, and the American Cancer Society.
