Dec-a-tree contest winners announced

Three local nonprofit organizations are receiving grants because of their creative Christmas tree decorating.

The winners of the Johnson County Museum of History Dec-A-Tree contest are:

• First place: Trafalgar Country Gardeners for “Peas on Earth.”
• Second place: Franklin City Church for “Superhero.”
• Judge’s Choice: Artcraft Teens for “Christmas Vacation.”

Each of the winners will receive a grant from the Johnson County Business Idea Exchange.

The contest is an annual initiative through the museum where 15 local non-profit organizations decorated Christmas trees that were on display at the museum for the season. Museum patrons voted for their favorites.
