Whiteland graduate Crowe helping St. Francis women’s team in big way

Sidney Crowe has made an immediate contribution to the St. Francis women’s basketball program in her freshman season.

The former Whiteland player has helped the Cougars compile an 11-8 record by ranking second on the team in scoring (8.1) and fourth in rebounds (3.3).

Crowe, a starting guard, most recently finished with seven points and two steals in a 69-57 loss to Huntington.

WHITELAND

Kate White came off the bench to grab three rebounds in Indiana Tech’s 80-46 road win against Northwestern Ohio.

FRANKLIN

St. Mary-of-the-Woods guard Tara Parmer scored four points, collected seven rebounds and had five assists in a loss to IU-Northwest.

Luke Kriech recently helped the University of Indianapolis wrestling team accrue points at the NWCA National Duals in Fort Wayne. The senior won his match at 174 pounds for the ninth-ranked (Division II) against Kutztown to improve his season record to 10-8.

CENTER GROVE

Kas Oganowski had a rebound and blocked shot for Adrian (Michigan) men’s basketball as it improved to 12-2 with a 74-67 overtime victory at Trine.

Junior guard/forward Regan Wentland contributed nine points, eight rebounds, three assists and a steal to Indiana State’s 56-48 women’s basketball win at home against in-state rival Evansville.

Sophomore guard Lauren Rau scored 10 points, grabbed five rebounds and dished two assists in Lipscomb’s 64-62 victory against Kennesaw State.

Holy Cross College guard Jessica Norris scored five points and led her team in rebounds with seven in a 114-78 loss to visiting Olivet Nazarene. Norris tallied 14 points against Roosevelt in an 80-60 loss.

In indoor track and field, Dayton sprinter Olivia Rassel ran a personal-best time of 8.72 seconds in the preliminaries of the 60-meter dash at Ohio State’s Buckeye Classic.

GREENWOOD

Holly Hoopingarner scored two points off the bench for IUPUI in its 65-43 victory at Youngstown State in women’s basketball.

Sophomore reserve guard Jae Taft finished with three points and three rebounds for the Olivet Nazarene women in a 114-78 win at Holy Cross College.

INDIAN CREEK

Cincinnati Christian guard Tim Abel finished with 12 points in an 88-69 home loss against Brescia (Kentucky).

Dylan Phair had 11 points, two rebounds and a steal in Indiana Tech’s 76-60 triumph at Northwestern Ohio. Phair had 20 points, four assists and a steal in an 83-73 overtime loss to Rochester.
