ELKINS, W.Va. — West Virginia state police say the bodies of a worker and his girlfriend have been found at a business in an apparent murder-suicide.

State Police say in a news release a business owner discovered the bodies upon arriving for work Monday in Elkins.

The statement says it appears the pair had been involved in an altercation and that one of them killed the other before taking their own life.

The investigation is continuing and the names of the dead weren’t immediately released.

Elkins is about 190 miles (306 kilometers) west of Washington, D.C.
