PROVIDENCE, R.I. — This week’s snowstorm may have been moved out but Rhode Island’s transportation system is still being affected.
The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority said Friday that six bus routes were being detoured because of road conditions after the storm.
Routes 6, 27, 29, 56 and 65X were running on modified routes, and service on Route 49 was suspended altogether. There was no service to CCRI on Route 6.
The Block Island Ferry canceled service on this Friday because of rough sea conditions after Thursday’s storm.
A wind gust of 71 mph was recorded during the storm. Block Island was the only spot in southern New England that experienced blizzard conditions according to the National Weather Service.
