HAUPPAUGE, N.Y. — Officials on Long Island are blaming two deaths on this week’s severe snowstorm.

Suffolk County officials tell Newsday that a man and a woman died after suffering cardiac arrest during Thursday’s storm.

Officials say the man was shoveling snow when he suffered a fatal heart attack. The circumstances of the woman’s death were not known.

Details including the victims’ names were not released.

Other deaths in North Carolina, Massachusetts and elsewhere have been blamed on the storm that dumped as much as a foot of snow across much of the Eastern United States.
